Fast cars and broken hearts. That was what downtown Carlem was all about. No, that wasn't something that you have to dig deep to understand, it's quite simple actually, and stupid, if your mind works that way. Alot of sixteen year olds, who got their licenses the day prior to the event drag race with the sly seniors who know of that too well. How, might you ask, are heart broken? Well, alot of stuff happens down here, cheating and even sexually transmitted diseases. That's how hearts are broke. So what is a fifteen year old doing in a place like this? Boredom.
Lucy sighed, her stupid sister was in town for stupid Christmas and that only meant one thing: Ridicule. Her sister loved to embarass her, Lucy didn't know why, but she always did it. Pulling her jacket closer to her body, Lucy stopped and leaned against a buliding, hopefully a friend would stop and hang out with her, it would be fine with her.

Erin walked down the streets of Downtown Carlem. She didn't have anything to do really and was getting tired of Yasmin. The step-mother who tried to act motherly to her. She was nine years older than Erin. Yuck. She had to be pregnant when she was nine to actually say she was Erin's mother. No thanks. Erin didn't really know why she was downtown. She just liked to walk down the streets and window shop sometimes. She wore a three quarter length sweater from Kitson and a Rock and Republic mini skirt and black flats. She switched arms for her Louis Vuitton bowler bag purse. Dolce and Gabbana, her yellow short haired teacup chihuahuas popped out. She stopped at a cute little boutique and looked at a beautiful gold party dress.

Lucy gave her head a soft shake, and tapped her fingers on her arms, which were crossed along her chest. Boredom, boredom, boredom. Lucy gave her eyes a roll, hearing the footsteps of a stranger. She slowly tilted her head to see who it was. A small smile surfaced on her red lips, it was her best friend...and her dogs. "Hey Erin," She called, hoping she would hear her.

Erin eyed the dress carefully, thinking she must have it. She rounded the window and was just about entered the door when she heard a familiar voice calling her name. She turned around and looked to see who it was. It was Lucy. One of her best friends. She had four best friends. Two guys Two girls. Lucy was the youngest though. She rarely talked to sophomores, but Lucy was like her sister, and being an only child was lonely. Erin smiled and walked closer toward Lucy. "Hey Lucy!" She said gladly and gave her a hug, then releashed her quickly not wanting to mess up her hair or squish her dogs who growled slightly. She patted the bag with her french manicured fingers and they did shut up.

Lucy tilted her head, her dark hair falling in her face, which she didn't bother to move, it would just fall again. "Whatcha up to?" Lucy asked Erin, her hands now resting on her hips.

Erin moved a piece of her black bangs that had fallen in her smoky brown eyes. She bended her right knee and balanced her weight on both. It was kinda her pose. "Nothing much. Just had to get away from Yasmin." Erin said in disgust when she said Yasmin. Gawd, she hated that woman. "She wanted to have mother bonding time. Like she could actually be my mother." Erin spat. She wasn't mad at Lucy. She just hated her step-mother.

Lucy couldn't help but laugh, not at Erin's misery, that would be rude and...unfriend like. "She was one active nine year old," She said, still grinning. She moved her hair from her eyes and waiting for Erin's reply.

Erin listened to what Lucy was saying. She pushed her hair behind one ear that had a diamond stud in it. She also had her cartilage and belly button pierced. She was thinking about getting her nose pierced too. Erin laughed and said "She probably was having sex when she was nine." Erin laughed at her cruel joke. She lost her virginty at 14 but that was five years after she turned 9.

Lucy made a face. "Thank you. So much for that image," She shuttered a little, "Now I have images of nine year old getting frisky on the trampoline in their backyards. So, again, thank you,"

Erin laughed and flipped her hair back. She was getting kinda cold wanting those cute black boots she saw in the window of a little boutique she saw out of the corner of eye. "You're so welcome. Glad I could help." She said. She shivered slightly. "I'm cold. Let's go shopping." She said and started walking toward the store. She didn't wait for a respond from Lucy she just went.

Lucy wasn't a big shopper like Erin was, in fact she almost hated it. Despite her dislike of shopping, she reluctantly followed her best friend into the store. She heaved a sigh, the coldness that had surrounded her body had evaporated and she was now enveloped in warmness of the shop.

Erin smiled at the lady and look at the pair of boots. Versace. Yes. She loved Versace. 1000 bucks. Psh. Nothing much. She grabbed the size six pair and sat down on a waiting seat. She took off her black flats and put her feet in the boots. "What do you think?" She said to Lucy and she stood up and looked in the mirror. They made her legs look a million miles long. Which was a good thing 'cause what boy doesn't like long legs?

Lucy studied her best friend, she looked hott, like she always did. She nodded, an eyebrow raised and her arms crossed, "Those are nice. 1000 dollars though?" She asked after sneaking a look at the price tag.

Erin turned her legs a bit to get a better angle. She totally loved these boots and they were so warm and cute. She heard Lucy say about the price. "Yeah not much. They're on sale too. Can you bring me that jacket over there?" She said pointed to the Dsquared jacket she saw on the hanger.

Lucy gave a nod, taking the jacket and handing it to her friend. She sat down on the chair, the chair people sat in to try on shoes, wathcing Erin go all out...again.
